Membership & How to join...

Who Can Join?

Membership of the Club is open to anyone who is interested in lapidary, gemstones, minerals, rock and mineral collecting, fossils, jewellery making, carving, enamelling and metal detecting. New members will be made welcome. Most interests can be accommodated where there is sufficient member support. Please feel free to either turn up at the monthly meetings or leave a phone message if you would like to know more about the Club.

Membership Categories

In addition to single individual members, the Club has other categories of membership which in some cases may be combined, and may attract a discounted membership fee.

Family Members include the person applying for membership as well as specified family members, which may include a partner who is a member of a couple; and dependent children up to 22 years of age. Please note that "dependent children" and "member of a couple" are as defined in the Social Security Act 1991.

Remote Members are members residing beyond a sixty-kilometre radius of the Canberra Lapidary Club premises.

Concessional Members are members who are either in receipt of a pensioner, health or student card; or (2) are senior citizens aged 65 and above.

Full Definitions of membership categories are available in the Constitution & Bylaws
